Welcome bonus drops to 75,000 points
Chase’s record-high 75,000-point welcome offer on the Sapphire Preferred ended July 30, 2026. New applicants now earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first three months — still one of the strongest starter travel bonuses, just below the brief all-time high. The card kept its $95 annual fee after a mid-2026 benefits refresh.
Biggest refresh yet — same $95 fee
Chase added 3x points on gas & EV charging and on vacation rentals (Airbnb, Vrbo), doubled the annual hotel credit to $100, and added a $120 Global Entry/TSA credit plus a complimentary year of Apple TV+ — all with no annual-fee increase.
Welcome bonus raised to 75,000 points
New cardholders can earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months — up from the long-standing 60,000-point offer.
The trade-offs: anniversary bonus & Hyatt transfers cut
The 10% anniversary points bonus is being eliminated, and the Hyatt transfer ratio drops to 4:3 for Sapphire Preferred — 1,000 Chase points now convert to 750 Hyatt points.
