3%Where the 3% actually applies
3% Daily Cash at Apple (Apple Store, apple.com, App Store, Apple services) and at a rotating list of partner merchants that has included Uber and Uber Eats, Walgreens, Nike, T-Mobile, Panera, Ace Hardware and ExxonMobil — but only when you pay with Apple Pay. Apple updates the partner list periodically, so check the Wallet app.
1%The catch: 1% without Apple Pay
Swipe the physical titanium card — or type the number into a site that doesn’t take Apple Pay — and you drop to 1% back. That’s below a basic flat-rate cash-back card. Apple Card only makes sense if you pay with Apple Pay nearly everywhere.

No foreign transaction fees. Requires an iPhone with the latest iOS to apply and manage the account.

January 2026NEW

Chase is the new Apple Card issuer

Apple and JPMorgan Chase confirmed that Chase is taking over the Apple Card from Goldman Sachs, which is exiting consumer lending. The handover is rolling out over roughly 24 months — cardholders keep using the card as normal in the meantime.

What is not changing

The 3% / 2% / 1% Daily Cash structure, the Mastercard network, Apple Card Family, the Wallet spending tools and the no-fee policy all carry over to Chase. Apple has said the core card experience stays intact.

Apple Savings won’t move automatically

If you have an Apple Savings account, it lives at Goldman Sachs and will not transfer on its own. Chase is expected to launch its own Apple savings product — you’ll have to decide whether to keep the Goldman account or open a new one.
